Abstract: The search for Open Geodata can be a complex task. Although the amount of data available on the web is overwhelming, users may find it difficult to figure out from where to start. Search engines are no appropriate entry points for systematic searches because they are made for discovering websites of all kind, and they are not specialized in data or data catalogs. There is a need for a roadmap of the Open Geodata landscape that gives directions towards useful data sources. For this purpose, members of the project OpenGeoEdu created a portal of Open Data portals which serves as a central entry point for discovering Open Geodata from the German-speaking area of Europe.
